Seven student-athletes transfer from SFCC track and field

 The State Fair Community College (SFCC) track and field teams announced on Wednesday, May 17, that seven student-athletes will take the next step to continue their success in the classroom and on the field by transferring to a four-year college and universities in Missouri.

Roadrunners Logan Shaw, Ty Lewis, Landon Mason, and Wyatt Irwin from the men's squad, will join Korry Davis from the Lady Roadrunner's team in transferring to the University of Central Missouri.

Lady Roadrunner Zaya Dove will continue her career at Missouri Valley College.

Roadrunner Brandon Allen will continue his career at Evangel University.

As a freshman, Shaw had a career-best in the 800m with a time of 2:18.03 at the UCM Mule Relays and a career-best 4:54.45 in the mile at the Washburn Rust Buster. The career-best for Shaw in the 5000m was 16:51.72 at the Culver-Stockton Wildcat Open as a sophomore.

As a sophomore, Shaw also excelled in cross-country with a career-best time at the 4-mile distance with a time of 22:33.3 at the SBU Bearcat Cross Country Invite and the career-best time for Shaw at the 8K distance was 27:39.2 at the Indian Hills Invitational, where he helped his team to a second-place finish. Shaw had a career-best in the 1500m of 4:38.95 at the ESU Relays as a freshman and a career-best of 9:43.06 in the 3000m at the Hilltop Invite.

As a freshman, Lewis ran a career-best in the 400m with a time of 54.05 at the Rock Chalk Classic and had a career-best in the 800m with a time of 2:00.13, which was good enough to win the event at the Wichita State Shocker Open.

As a sophomore, Lewis had a career-best in the 1500m with a time of 4:18.79 at the Southwest Baptist Invitational and ran a career-best 4:48.88 in the mile at the NAIA/Junior College Challenge.

Lewis also had an outstanding cross-country career at SFCC with a career-best in the 4-mile distance with a time of 22:42.3 at the SBU Bearcat Cross Country Invite as a sophomore and an 8K personal best of 27:03.9 at the Indian Hills Invitational, where the Roadrunners finished second as a team.

As a freshman, Mason had a career-best in the javelin throw of 38.64 meters at the Southwest Baptist Invitational.

As a sophomore, Mason had a career-best in the shot put of 14.11 meters at the Bearcat Invite and had a career record in the hammer throw of 47.01 meters at the Wichita State Shocker Open. Mason had a career-best in the discus of 44.58 meters at the University of Central Missouri Mule Relays and a career-best of 13.36 meters at the Kansas State University Steve Miller Invitational.

As a freshman, Irwin had a career-best in the high jump of 2.06 meters at the Wichita State Shocker, a career-best in the long jump of 6.53 meters at the Southwest Baptist invitational and a career-best in the 60m with a time of 7.92 at the Mel Tjeerdsma Classic.

Davis had a career-best in the 800m with a time of 2:48.19 as a freshman at the ESU Relays and a career-best in the mile with a time of 6:26.67 at the UCM Mule Relays.

As a sophomore, Davis ran her best time in the 5000m with a time of 21:22.56 at the Miner Invitational and a career-best of 5:33.60 in the 1500m at the Wichita State Shocker Open. Davis also ran a career-best in the 3000m at the NAIA/Junior College Challenge with a time of 12:18.15 and a career best 44:56.20 in the 10000m at the University of Central Missouri Mule Relays.

Davis also excels in cross country with a 5K career-best of 22:13.5 at the Missouri Southern Stampede as a sophomore.

As a freshman, Dove also owns a career-best in the 200m with a time of 28.65 at the Mel Tjeerdsma Classic and ran a career-best in the 100m with a time of 13.82 at the Rock Chalk Classic. Dove ran a career-best in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.91 at the Friends University First Chance Qualifier.

Dove had a career-best time of 8.58 in the 60m as a sophomore at the Bearcat Invite and a career-best of 17.20 in the 100m hurdles at the Southwest Baptist Invitational.

Allen had a career-best in the 60m with a time of 7.21 as a freshman in the UCM Mule Relays and ran a career-best in the 300m with a time of 37.27 at the Mel Tjeerdsma Classic. Allen also owns a personal best in the 600 yards with a time of 1:16.72 at the Bearcat Invite.

As a sophomore, Allen had a career-best in the 200m with a time of 22.55 at the Wichita State Shocker Open. Allen holds a career-best in the 400m with a time of 51.02, which was good enough to win the event at the Culver-Stockton Wildcat Open.

"We are very excited for these sophomores to get the chance to continue their academic and athletic careers," said Head Coach Brad Hagedorn. "They are the best our program has to offer, and they will be a great representation of the athletes who come from State Fair Community College. We wish them the best of luck!"
