Roadrunners claim three individual event titles at Culver-Stockton College

The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners track and field team scored 81 team points en route to a fifth-place finish at the Wildcat Open at Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri Saturday, April 22.

Sophomore Wyatt Irwin won the high jump with a jump of 1.90 meters. Irwin also placed eighth in the long jump with a jump of six meters.

Sophomore Brandon Allen captured the title of the 400m with a time of 51.02. Allen finished second in the 200m with a time of 22.85.

Freshman Addison Richards claimed the third individual event championship for the Roadrunners in the 400m hurdles with a time of 59.80. Richards also finished fourth in the 110m hurdles with a time of 16.50.

Sophomore Ty Lewis finished second in the 1500m with a time of 4:19.90.

Sophomore David Leon finished second in the 400m with a time of 51.35. Leon placed fifth in the 200m in a time of 23.56.

Sophomore Landon Mason placed fourth in the discus with a throw of 43.90 meters.

Sophomore Ethan Sims took home a fourth-place finish in the javelin with a throw of 42.40 meters.

Sophomore Logan Shaw finished fifth in the 5000m with a time of 16:51.72.

Sophomore Ryan Smith finished seventh in the 1500m with a time of 4:24.99.

Freshman Keyton Laire finished eighth in the discus with a throw of 37.42 meters.

While it was certainly cold and dreary, we had great results all-around," said Head Coach Brad Hagedorn. "We were mentally tough through the cold weather and our athletes rose to the task. We had several event wins and many outstanding performances. Wyatt continued his outstanding season. Addison and Brandon won their first collegiate events. We are off for two weeks and then we finish the regular season at Wichita State."
