Roadrunners close out indoor regular season

The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners Track and Field team traveled to Manhattan, Kansas to compete in the Steve Miller Invitational hosted inside Ahearn Field House at Kansas State University on Friday, Feb. 17.

Freshman Bruno Saucedo recorded the best finish for the Roadrunners with a fourth place finish in the 200m with a time of 23.35. Freshman Addison Richards finished eighth in the 200m with a time of 24.28. Freshman David Brown finished fifth in the 400m run with a time of 52.43. Freshman David Leon finished sixth in the 600-yard run with a time of 1:21.70.

Sophomore Landon Mason had a pair of sixth place finishes in the weight throw and the shot put. Mason finished with a 13.36 meter throw in the weight throw and 13.81 meter throw in the shot put. Freshman Keyton Laire finished eighth in the shot put with a throw of 12.13 meters.

"This meet was a great way to end our indoor regular season," said Roadrunners Head Coach Brad Hagedorn. "The men's team saw several top performances. Bruno Saucedo and David Brown broke through with great days, finishing in the top five in the 200 and 400 respectively.  All of our kids have worked very hard in practice and it's encouraging to see their efforts rewarded."

The Roadrunners head to the NJCAA Indoor National Championships in two weeks at Washburn University.
