Roadrunners golf team finishes fourth in Arkansas

The Roadrunners placed fourth as a team at the CBC Mustang Invitational at The Country Club of Arkansas, a par 72 course in Maumelle, Arkansas, on Monday and Tuesday, March 13, 14.

The Roadrunners shot a 332 in round one and followed that with a 327 in round two, for a total of 83 over par 659 as a team.

Sophomore Kaden Killingsworth and freshman Keaton Mateja led the charge for SFCC finishing in a tie for 16th with a score of 18 over par 162. Killingsworth shot scores of 82 and 80. Mateja shot scores of 78 and 84.

Freshman McCord Deken shot scores of 85 and 86 for a total of 27 over par 171 to finish 25th. Freshman Korbin Kisner shot scores of 87 and 85 for total of 28 over par 172 to finish 26th. Sophomore Matthew Potter finished 29th with scores of 96 and 78 for a total of 30 over par 174.

"Our team played well at times through the event," said Roadrunners Head Coach Wayne Ogle. "Kaden and Keaton kept themselves in the top two spots in the team. We played on a very wet golf course. We were the only community college team there. The rest of the schools were all NAIA schools."
