Golf opens spring season

The State Fair Community College (SFCC) men's golf team finished seventh at the par 71 Columbia College Spring Invitational at the Columbia Country Club on Monday, March 6 in Columbia. The Roadrunners shot a 45 over par (329) at the 18-hole event.

Sophomore Kaden Killingsworth shot the low round of the day for SFCC with a six over par (77) to tie for 14th. Freshman Keaton Mateja shot a 10 over par (81) to finish tied for 27th. Sophomore Matthew Potter shot a 11 over par (82) to finish 30th. Freshman Jackson Kempton scored an 18 over par (89) to finish tied for 36th. Freshman Korbin Kisner shot a 21 over par (92) to finish 38th.

"I have no issues with what we shot today," said Roadrunners Head Coach Wayne Ogle. "We identified many things to work on.  Each player had at least one double bogey or worse during the tournament today. I feel like our team has a lot of potential, if we can just clean up the big numbers."
