Roadrunners golf team competes at John A. Logan College

The Roadrunners golf team returned to action at the John A. Logan College Fall Invite. As a team, the Roadrunners finished ninth with a score of 150 over par 1,002. SFCC shot a 338 as a team in round one, followed by 335 in round two, and a 329 in the final round. The event was held at the Par 71 Kokopelli Golf Club on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 26-27, in Marion, Illinois.

Freshman Jackson Kempton recorded the best finish for SFCC finishing 33rd at 34 over par with scores of 85 in round one, 82 in round two and 80 in round three for a total score of 247.

Freshman McCord Deken, competing as an individual, finished tied for 37th with scores of 82, 86 and 82 for a total of 37 over par 250.

Sophomore Kaden Killingsworth finished in a tie for 37th with scores of 80, 86 and 84 for a total of 37 over par 250.

Freshman Korbin Kisner finished tied for 39th with scores of 85, 85 and 82 for a total of 39 over par 252.

Freshman Keaton Mateja finished tied for 41st with scores of 88, 82 and 83 for a total of 40 over par 253.

Sophomore Matthew Potter finished 54th with scores of 96, 86 and 85 for a total of 54 over par 267.

"This fall we are working to understand our strengths and weaknesses on the golf course," said Roadrunners Head Coach Wayne Ogle. "I am trying to identify who my consistent players are and who has the best scoring potential."
