The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners participated in the Rockhurst Spring Invitational at the Swope Memorial Golf Course on Monday and Tuesday, March 14-15. The Roadrunners finished in sixth place as a team on the par 70 course.

Sophomore Kaden Killingsworth shot 84 and 78, the lowest round at the event for SFCC for a combined 36-hole total of 162 to finish in a tie for 27th. Sophomore Preston Patterson finished tied for 45th. Patterson shot 95 and 80 for a total of 175. Freshman Matthew Potter finished 50th with scores of 90 and 90 for a total of 180. Freshman Payton Presnall finished 51st with scores of 96 and 89 for a total of 185. Sophomore Brett Hockett finished 52nd with scores of 94 and 96 for a total score of 190. Sophomore Fischer Tharp competed as an individual. Tharp finished 53rd with scores of 97 and 98 for total of 195.

"Since this event was close to home and a team dropped out at the last minute, we were able to bring our whole team to the tournament," said Roadrunners Golf Coach Wayne Ogle. "We were able to get some more competitive repetitions in. We outplayed ourselves from our last event, cleaned up some mistakes that have been happening on the course, and gained more experience on a different style golf course, which are all positive things."
