Roadrunners open spring season

The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners returned to the links for spring at the Hardscrabble Invitational at the Hardscrabble Country Club in Fort Smith, Arkansas on Monday and Tuesday, March 7-8. The event consisted of two rounds on Monday with a final round on Tuesday.

The Roadrunners finished 13th as a team led by sophomore Preston Patterson who finished 64th. Patterson scored 86, 83 and 85 (254). Sophomore Kaden Killingsworth shot 88, 84 and 84 (256) and finished 65th. Sophomore Fischer Tharp scored 111, 90 and 99 (300) and finished 70th. Freshman Payton Presnall shot 102, 105 and 101 (308) to finish 71st. Sophomore Brett Hockett finished 72nd with scores of 108, 111 and 116 (335).

"It was a rough week in Arkansas with cold temps and gusty winds" said Roadrunners Goff Head Coach Wayne Ogle. "But, we now have a starting point for the spring season. I'm looking forward to seeing the improvement we can make between now and regionals. Congratulations to Kaden Killingsworth on his first hole-in-one during round three."
