SFCC competes at the Lincoln Trail College Fall Invitational

The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners' golf team continued their fall season on Saturday, Oct. 9 at the Lincoln Trail College Fall Invitational. The 36-hole (par 72) event was played at the Quail Creek Country Club & Resort in Robinson, Illinois.

SFCC finished seventh as a team at the event, firing an opening round 349 and following that up with a 358 for a team total of 131 over par 707.

Freshman Curtis Wendler led SFCC with a 27th place finish (tied) with scores of 80 and 85 for total of 21 over par 165. Sophomore Preston Patterson finished 39th with scores of 90 and 86 for total of 32 over par 176. Freshman Matthew Potter finished 42nd with scores of 85 and 95 for a total of 36 over par 180. Sophomore Kaden Killingsworth finished 46th with scores of 97 and 92 for a total of 45 over par 189. Freshman Payton Presnall shot 94 and 96 for total of 46 over par 190, which placed him 47th.

"Curtis continues to post the best scores on the team, and I think he will be even better in the spring," said SFCC Golf Head Coach Wayne Ogle.
