Roadrunners Compete at District Golf Championship

The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners golf team wrapped up the season with an eighth place finish as a team at the NJCAA District 16 Championship on May 3 and 4 at the Mozingo Lake Golf Course in Maryville. The best round as a team for the Roadrunners came in the first round with a score of 368.

Freshman Kaden Killingsworth of Mt. Vernon had the highest individual finish for SFCC finishing in 28th position. He shot an 89 in the opening round, and followed that up with a 97 in the second round. Killingsworth shot 86 in the final round of the event, which was the lowest individual round for SFCC in the championship.

Freshman Tucker Williams of Windsor shot an 87 in round one, a 98 in round two and 94 in the third round to finish 33rd.

Freshman Andrew Bailey of Warrensburg finished 34th individually with rounds of 95, 90, and 98.

Freshman Brett Hockett of Sedalia finished 37th individually with scores of 97, 98, and 98 at the three-round event.

Sophomore Brandon Plummer of Tipton shot 98, 96 and 100.

"I am happy to have been able to make it through a somewhat normal season," said Roadrunners Golf Head Coach Wayne Ogle. "We will have a few returning players next season, and there are a few nice players we are looking at bringing on to the team."
