William Woods Spring Invitational Recap

The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners traveled to Fulton to compete in the William Woods Spring Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, March 29 and 30. The event took place at the Tanglewood Golf Course in Fulton.

SFCC finished ninth at the two-round event with a total team score of 711, 135 over par. Sophomore Brandon Plummer of Tipton led the charge for SFCC with scores of 85 and 89, which placed him in a tie for 49th with 30 over par 174. Freshman  Andrew Bailey of Warrensburg finished 52nd with scores of 89 and 87, which was good enough for 32 over par 176. Freshman Kaden Killingsworth of Mt. Vernon shot scores of 88 and 92 for total of 36 over par 180, which placed him in a tie for 54th. Freshman Tucker Williams of Windsor shot scores of 89 and 92, which was good enough for a 37 over par 181, which placed Williams in a tie for 56th. Freshman Fischer Tharp of Rockport shot scores of 100 and 96 for a total of 52 over par 196, which placed Tharp 62nd.

"The team did some really good things this week," said Roadrunners Golf Head Coach Wayne Ogle. "The wind was strong both days and the gusts were hard to handle for all the players. The event was a great learning opportunity to play with some bigger programs in tough conditions."
