The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners golf team opened spring competition at the Viking Shootout on Saturday, March 6 at Stone Hedge Golf Course in Marshall. SFCC shot 364 as a team and finished in fourth place at 76 over par.

Freshman Kaden Killingsworth of Mt. Vernon finished 20th shooting a 10 over par 82 to lead the team. Freshman Brett Hockett of Sedalia finished in a tie for 23rd with a 15 over par 87. Freshman Andrew Bailey of Warrensburg shot a 19 over par 91 to finish 26th. Freshman Tucker Williams of Windsor scored a 23 over par 95 to finish tied for 28th. Sophomore Brandon Plummer of Tipton shot a 24 over par 96 to finish 30th. Freshman Fischer Tharp of Rockport finished 31st shooting a 29 over par 101.

"I am happy with the way Kaden and Brett played. Brett Hockett played a really nice round of golf and excessive good discipline on a windy day," said SFCC Golf Coach Wayne Ogle. "We have a lot of work to do to be competitive, but I know some of these guys really want to improve and will be putting in the hours."
