Roadrunners basketball ends season with loss at nationally ranked Moberly

The third-seeded State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners (11-19) fell 94-71 to the 19th ranked and second-seeded Moberly Area Community College Greyhounds in a Region 16 Tournament Semifinal on Thursday night, March 7 in Moberly.

Moberly jumped out to an early 10-3 lead with 16 minutes and 11 seconds remaining in the first half. The Greyhounds pushed the advantage to 24-11 with 10 minutes and 18 seconds remaining. The Greyhounds led 49-26 at halftime. Both teams scored 45 points in the second half.

Freshman forward Thomas Diew and sophomore guard Elijah Edwards tied for the team lead in scoring with 14 points each. Sophomore forward Cliff Barrow contributed 13 points. Freshman guard Alex Gunnels and Diew tied for the team lead in rebounds with six. Barrow recorded a team-high four assists. Freshman guard Mosa Osagie led the team in steals with two.
