Three SFCC student-athletes find play at next level

Two former State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners basketball student-athletes will continue their professional basketball careers overseas this season. Tyreek Scott-Grayson has joined EuroBasket to play for Sport Club Municipal (SCM) Timisoara in Romania. Damaria Franklin will play professionally in Serbia for KK Metalac Farmakom Valjevo. Dimitri Georgiadis will have an opportunity to play left tackle at Northern Arizona University, a Division I University in Flagstaff, Arizona.

Scott-Grayson played for SFCC during the 2017-2018 season. He earned First Team All-Region 16 honors that season. Scott- Grayson also earned First Team Missouri Community College Athletic Conference recognition that season, while helping SFCC to a 19-10 record.

"Tyreek had a very good year for us here at State Fair," said Roadrunners Head Coach Matt Brown. "He went on to do very well at the Division I level. Most importantly, he graduated with his bachelor's degree and finished his master's degree from Old Dominion University. Tyreek is mature enough to handle the adjustment of playing at the professional level and adjusting to living abroad."

Franklin played for SFCC during the 2018-2019 season and the 2019-2020 season. Franklin still ranks fourth in all-time single season scoring at 19.633 points per game as a sophomore. Franklin helped SFCC to a 12-16 record as a freshman. He helped his team to a 16-14 record as a sophomore. Franklin was a two-time First Team All-Region 16 selection and two-time First Team Missouri Community College Athletic Conference selection.

"Damaria was an all-region player for us here at State Fair for two years," said Brown. "He had an excellent career at the Division I level and was able to play in the NCAA Tournament at Memphis. Most importantly, he graduated with his bachelor's degree. He is currently playing in Serbia and hopes to get into the NBA G League."

Georgiadis played for the Roadrunners during the 2019-2020 season. He helped his team to a 16-14 season.

"Dimitri is a very determined young man," said Brown. "He has already graduated from Virginia Tech and recently transferred to Northern Arizona to play football. He didn't play football growing up, but with his size, he has a chance at a new sport. He is pursuing his master's degree at Northern Arizona."
