SFCC esports ready for playoffs

The State Fair Community College (SFCC) esports team is getting ready for playoff action in three different titles. SFCC will host watch parties for each of the titles, as long as they continue to advance in the playoffs.

The SFCC Rainbow Six Siege team consisting of Gage Behee, Skyler Perry, Josh Wyrick, Levi Pitman, and Caden Thomas is currently 7-0 with a 100% game win percentage and tied for the top seed in the nation. The team will probably end up with the number two seed because of tiebreakers.

The watch party for Rainbow Six Siege will be December 5th at 5 p.m. for the quarterfinal round. The watch party for the quarterfinal will take place in the cafeteria with the action displayed on a television cart. If the team advances, the watch party for the semifinal round will take place on December 6 at 5 p.m. If the team wins the semifinal round, the championship will take place on December 7 at 5 p.m. The watch parties for the semifinal and championship will take place in the Thompson Conference Center.

Webster Brown also will represent SFCC in Super Smash Bros Ultimate, a one versus one game. Brown currently has a record of 6-2. Brown qualified out of 240 teams registered with NJCAAE, the governing body for two-year collegiate esports. The watch party for that event will take place in the SFCC cafeteria on November 30th at 4:30 p.m.

Isabelle Ballard is the first female esports student-athlete from SFCC to qualify for the playoffs. Ballard will represent SFCC in Mario Kart, a one versus one game. Ballard currently has a record of 6-2. The watch party for this event will take place on December 1 at 6:30 p.m. in the Esports arena.
