SFCC esports team remains strong in second year

The State Fair Community College (SFCC) esports Rainbow Six Siege team Alpha is undefeated with a record of 5-0 with two regular season matches remaining. The team has a total of 10 maps won and is currently seeded in first place over halfway through the NJCAAE fall season. NJCAAE is the governing body for esports within the NJCAA.

The team members are Josh Wyrick, Gage Behee, Caden Thomas, Levi Pitman, and Skylar Perry.

"All playable operators are divided into attackers and defenders," said SFCC Head Coach Jake Coleman. "Attackers, as the name suggests, are the siege force, charged with breaching, clearing, and securing the objective. Defenders must withhold the objective, reinforcing the building's entrances, and fortifying key locations throughout the map."

Rainbow Six Siege is a high precision, tactical shooter game that requires careful planning, teamwork, and skilled tactical play.

"Each match consists of a best of 3 games or maps," said Coleman. "Each game or map counts towards or against your overall game win percentage. The higher your game win percentage, the better seeding you will receive. So, since we are 100% game win percentage, that means we have won every match 2-0 thus far."

Playoffs will begin on November 29 and December 6, with the championship game on December 7, if the team continues to advance.
