March 9 Hutchinson Community College at Sedalia

The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners lost a 20-13 slugfest to Hutchinson Community College on Tuesday, March 9 at Liberty Park Stadium-Dey Field.

Freshman infielder/outfielder Jacob McWhirter of Guelph, Ontario led the SFCC offense with two doubles and five RBI. Freshman outfielder Drake Miller of Camdenton hit a home run, scored three runs, and drove in two. Freshman infielder Brandon Stahlman of Washington also hit a home run, drove in a pair of runs, and scored two. Freshman infielder Brayden McGinnis of Concordia recorded two hits, including a double. He also scored twice and drove in a run. Freshman infielder Austin Warkins of Haysville, Kansas had two hits, including a double, and a run scored. The offense put together 11 hits as a team.

Freshman pitcher Tucker Nunnenkamp of Lee's Summit got the start for the Roadrunners. Nunnenkamp gave up five runs on six hits in two innings pitched. Sophomore pitcher Antonio Escano of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic gave up six runs, four of which were earned on four hits and struck out two. Sophomore pitcher Will Knight of Sedalia was given the pitching loss in relief for SFCC. Knight gave up three runs on two hits in one inning pitched.
