Lady Roadrunners track and field claims 10 top-eight finishes at Culver-Stockton
The State Fair Community College women’s track and field team finished with 32 points and placed eighth overall at the Culver-Stockton College Invitational on Friday, April 18.

The State Fair Community College women's track and field team finished with 32 points and placed eighth overall at the Culver-Stockton College Invitational on Friday, April 18. The Lady Roadrunners recorded 10 top-eight finishes at the meet.
Freshman Izzy Sabala of Hermitage had the team's top performance, placing second in the javelin with a college-best throw of 35.35 meters.
Freshman Laiysha Freeman of Kansas City took third in the long jump with a mark of 5.15 meters.
The 4x100-meter relay team finished fourth with a time of 50.41 seconds.
Freshman Amparo Payne placed sixth in the pole vault at 2.30 meters. Freshman Bethany Slovensky of New Florence was sixth in the triple jump with a college-best mark of 10.42 meters and also took seventh in the 100-meter hurdles with a college-best time of 15.99 seconds.
Freshman Alexis Riddle of Independence placed seventh in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a college-best time of 14:35.03. Sophomore Emma Rinaldi of Belton finished eighth in the same event, posting a personal-best time of 15:53.29.
Freshman Sophia Edwin of Killeen, Texas, finished eighth in the long jump with a mark of 4.86 meters and also placed eighth in the triple jump with a college-best leap of 10.35 meters.
"We were very competitive this week," head coach Brad Hagedorn said. "We had several events where we placed multiple athletes. We broke five school records and advanced our national position in several other events. The weather was virtually perfect, and the athletes came through in a big way. We wrap up our regular season next Friday in Des Moines."
