Lady Roadrunners’ track and field find success at Redhawks Invite
The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Lady Roadrunners track and field team opened their 2025 indoor season at the Redhawks Invite at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau on Saturday, Jan. 11.
The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Lady Roadrunners track and field team opened their 2025 indoor season at the Redhawks Invite at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau on Saturday, Jan. 11.
Freshman Laiysha Freeman, Kansas City, Missouri finished third in the 55m with a time of 7.75. Freshman Journey Sander, Cairo finished third in the triple jump with a jump of 10.25 meters.
Freshman Nora Moreno, Versailles finished fourth in the 55m with a time of 7.76.
Freshman Jocelyn Nunez, Independence finished fifth in the long jump with a jump of 5.29 meters.
Moreno also brought home a sixth-place finish in the 200m with a time of 28.44.
Sophomore Claire Nichols, Charleston, Missouri finished seventh in the weight throw with a throw of 11.37 meters.
"Our teams had a very positive start to our 2025 indoor season," said Head Coach Brad Hagedorn. "Collectively, we broke three school records, had two national qualifiers, and set seven career bests. After shaking off the nerves, we settled in and competed well against some stiff competition. We look forward to showing a little more experience next weekend at Northwest Missouri State University."
