September 25 Southwest Baptist University at Bolivar
The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Lady Roadrunners soccer team tied Southwest Baptist University 2-2 on Wednesday, September 25 in Bolivar.
SFCC got a pair of goals from freshman Ella Smith, who scored once in each half for SFCC.
Freshman Grace Eidson got the start in goal for SFCC.
September 28 Crowder College at Sedalia
SFCC (0-8-1) dropped a hard-fought contest to Crowder College 3-2 at the Fred E. Davis Sports Complex on Saturday, September 28 in Sedalia.
SFCC jumped on the scoreboard in the first minute when freshman Lucca Berman scored to put SFCC on top.
Crowder tied the contest with less than 37 minutes remaining in the opening half. Crowder added another goal with about 13 seconds remaining in the opening half to take a 2-1 lead into halftime.
Smith scored for SFCC to tie the match at two with less than 37 minutes to go. It was the third goal for Smith this week for the Lady Roadrunners.
Crowder scored what proved to be the game-winning goal with about 27 minutes remaining.
"Right now, injuries are killing us a little bit," said Head Coach Michael Poropat. "Multiple players are struggling with injuries. Hopefully, we can get a little bit of a rest and get them back out on the field. When the players go back and watch the video, I think they're going to see a lot of missed opportunities. I think they'll be disappointed with the lack of attention to detail."
