Three Lady Roadrunner soccer players earn NJCAA All-Region 16 awards

After the winningest season in program history (10-4-2), the National Junior College Athletic Association Region 16 has awarded three Lady Roadrunners All-Region 16 honors based on votes from the region's coaches. Freshman Adamaris Ramirez of Sedalia and sophomore Sabra Moon of Sedalia earned First Team honors. Sophomore Megan Toops of Sedalia was named to the Second Team.  

Ramirez scored a team-high 17 goals, recorded a team-high six assists and 40 points. Ramirez tallied a team-high four game-winning goals. 

"Adamaris was a fast and dangerous attacker with good dribbling and finishing abilities," said State Fair Community College Athletic Director Darren Pannier. "She was a threat to score every time she touched the ball."    

Moon finished second on the team in assists with four and finished third in goals with six and third in points with 16. Moon converted both of her penalty kick attempts and recorded three game-winning goals. 

"Sabra was a relentless worker with a very powerful shot and good field vision," said Pannier. 

Toops started in all 16 games as a defender and took three shots, all of which were on target.  

"Megan was the best pure defender on the team," said Pannier. "She was always willing to do the difficult work in the back to keep opponents away from our goal."
