Six Lady Roadrunners earn All-Conference honors for women’s soccer

Six student athletes on the State Fair Community College women's soccer team have earned All-Conference recognition from the coaches in the Missouri Community College Athletic Conference. Freshman midfielder Adamaris Ramirez earned First-Team honors, along with sophomore defender Megan Toops, and sophomore forward Sabra Moon. The conference champion Lady Roadrunners also had three players named to the Second-Team, sophomore defender Jackie Murillo, sophomore forward Mariela Rodriguez, and sophomore goalkeeper Madison Mosher.

The Lady Roadrunners broke the record for wins in a season and numerous other team records this season.

Ramirez scored a team-high 17 goals, to go along with a team-high six assists and 40 points. Ramirez tallied a team-high four game-winning goals.

"Adamaris was a fast and dangerous attacker with good dribbling and finishing abilities," said State Fair Community College Athletic Director Darren Pannier. "She was a threat to score every time she touched the ball."

Toops was a key part of the back line for the Lady Roadrunners. Toops started in all 16 games for the Lady Roadrunners. Toops took three shots all of which were on goal.

"Megan was the best pure defender on the team," said Pannier. "She was always willing to do the difficult work in the back to keep opponents away from our goal."

Moon finished second on the team in assists with four. Moon finished third on the team in goals with six and third on team in points with 16. Moon also converted both of her penalty kick attempts and recorded three game-winning goals.

"Sabra was a relentless worker with a very powerful shot and good field vision," said Pannier.

Murillo was another key part of the Lady Roadrunners back line this season and started in every game for SFCC.

"Jackie was a strong, physical defender with a good ability to pass out of the back," said Pannier.

Rodriguez finished second on the team in goals with 14, including a program best five scores against Scott Community College. Rodriguez started and played in all 16 games for SFCC. Rodriguez had 30 points this season, which was good enough for second on the team. Rodriguez took 48 shots, 25 of which were on goal and scored one game-winning goal.

"Mariela was a good target forward with a very powerful shot," said Pannier.

Mosher started in 11 of 13 games at goal for the Lady Roadrunners. Mosher recorded seven wins and three shutouts, with a 1.09 goals-against average and a .846 save percentage. Mosher was a key part of the Lady Roadrunners defense.

"Madison was a dedicated, hard-working goalkeeper, who made great saves to help the team to their impressive start to the season," said Pannier
