Lady Roadrunners soccer team continues winning

Sept. 12 - Central Methodist University at Fayette

The 19th ranked Lady Roadrunners defeated Central Methodist University 4-0 on Sept. 12 in Fayette.

Freshman Adamaris Ramirez scored an unassisted goal early in the contest. The Lady Roadrunners struck again 20 minutes later when sophomore Natalie Muela scored off a pass from freshman   Maria Decker. Sophomore Carly Roberts added another goal on a pass from Ramirez. SFCC led 3-0 at halftime.

In the second half, Ramirez scored again courtesy of an assist from sophomore forward Sabra Moon. Ramirez and Moon registered a team-high three shots each.

"It was a good game," said Lady Roadrunners Associate Head Coach Roberto Tucker. "Our transition from our midfielders to our attackers allowed us to score. Our defenders are working very well together. We want to play everyone because I want everyone to have a chance to be on the field."

Sophomore goalkeeper Madison Mosher and freshman goalkeeper Nayeli Lopez combined to earn the shutout. Mosher had five saves, and Lopez made two.

Sept. 17 - St. Louis Community College at Sedalia

SFCC (5-0-2, 2-0-1 in Region 16, 2-0-1 in the MCCAC) used a second half offensive onslaught to secure a 4-0 victory over St. Louis Community College in its home opener at the Fred E. Davis Sports Complex on Sept. 17 in Sedalia. The game was part of the Region 16 and Missouri Community College Athletic Conference schedule for both teams.

The 19th ranked Lady Roadrunners got on the scoreboard courtesy of a goal from Moon in the 53rd minute from just outside the 18-yard box on a pass from Ramirez. SFCC scored again in the 55th minute with a goal from sophomore Mariela Rodriguez. Moon scored again on a set piece in the 71st minute with an assist from sophomore Jessica Valladares, and Ramirez scored the final goal. Moon took five shots, four of which were on target, to lead the team in both categories.

Mosher earned the shutout in goal and made three saves.

"We had a very slow first half," said Tucker. "We made some adjustments to our style of play and positions at halftime. Our team is very motivated. I think we are doing the correct things. Everything we do in practice is showing up on the game field. I am very proud of our team; they are doing a good job."
