Lady Roadrunners defeat Central Methodist in double overtime

Sept. 4 - Central Methodist University

State Fair Community College (2-0-1) used a goal in the second overtime to secure a 3-2 road victory over Central Methodist University in Fayette.

Freshman Adamaris Ramirez scored the first two goals for the Lady Roadrunners.

Ramirez was fouled on a breakaway resulting in a penalty kick. Sophomore Sabra Moon converted the penalty kick to give SFCC the victory.

Ramirez registered nine shots, six of which were on target to lead SFCC in both categories.

"Our back line has been playing very well," said Lady Roadrunners Associate Head Coach Roberto Tucker. "It was a good game against a very competitive team. Both teams played similar styles. We were dominant in the second overtime. We had three chances to score and were able to convert the third opportunity into a penalty kick. I have been very happy our team applies everything that we do in practice during the games."

Sophomore goalkeeper Madison Mosher got the start in goal and made seven saves.
