The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Lady Roadrunners continue to earn postseason honors. Four student-athletes on the women's soccer were named to the Missouri Community College Athletic Conference Women's Soccer All-Conference Team.
Freshman forward Sabra Moon and sophomore defender Natalie Clark were named to the First-Team. Freshman midfielder Ally Woolery and freshman defender Megan Toops were named to the Second-Team.
Moon recorded a team-high seven goals, five of which were game winners. Moon recorded a hat trick against Metropolitan Community College. Moon finished second on the team in points with 14.
"Sabra was our leading scorer, despite missing a third of the season," said Lady Roadrunners Head Coach Jaime Beltran. "Prior to her injury, she was leading the nation in game-winning goals. She grew so much from last year. She worked hard for this award."
Clarke was a key piece of the Lady Roadrunners' defense. Clarke finished with two assists on the season.
"Natalie played well in the center of our defense," said Beltran. "She also played at left back when we had to make some adjustments. Natalie is consistent and makes the right tackle most of the time."
Woolery led the team in points with 16 and finished tied for the team lead in assists with four. Woolery finish second on the team in goals scored with six, two of which were game winners.
"Ally scored some impressive goals for us," said Beltran. "She took a lot of shots from outside the box. She has the ability to place the ball on goal from almost anywhere."
Toops was another key cog in the SFCC defense.
"Megan played a center back position for us the entire season," said Beltran." She is our most aggressive defender and she anticipates the ball really well."
The team was nationally ranked for most of the season. The Lady Roadrunners finished with nine wins, a program record, including winning the first five contests on the season.
