State Fair Community College (SFCC) defender Natalie Clarke of England has received an All-American Honorable Mention by the NJCAA DII Women's Soccer Committee. Clarke is the first SFCC women's soccer player to earn All-American recognition.
Clarke started 10 games, anchoring a defense that only allowed four goals in the regular season and scored one goal on the season. The SFCC defense also did not concede a goal for three consecutive games and seven consecutive halves.
The Lady Roadrunners had the best season in the program's history. SFCC ended the regular season ranked 19th in the national poll. SFCC finished with a program record seven victories and advanced to the Region 16 semifinal round.
"Natalie was part of the strongest unit on our team; one that broke all kinds of program records," said SFCC Soccer Head Coach Jaime Beltran. "Any success that our team had this season, started with our back line and their ability to successfully defend and counterattack. Natalie is definitely deserving of this recognition."
The SFCC soccer teams played the 2020-21 season in the spring. Both the women's and men's teams will resume fall play for the upcoming 2021-22 season.
