Lady Roadrunners Go Undefeated for the Week
The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Lady Roadrunners used strong three-point shooting to defeat Jefferson College 92-71 at the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center in Sedalia on Wednesday night, Jan. 29.

The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Lady Roadrunners used strong three-point shooting to defeat Jefferson College 92-71 at the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center in Sedalia on Wednesday night, Jan. 29. The matchup was part of the Missouri Community College Athletic Conference schedule.
SFCC led 25-19 after the first quarter and extended the lead to 46-31 at halftime. Jefferson narrowed the margin to 49-40 early in the third quarter, but SFCC responded with a defensive surge, closing the period ahead 65-51 and securing the victory.
The Lady Roadrunners shot 50% from the field and made 12 of 29 three-point attempts.
"It was a sloppy game," said Lady Roadrunners Head Coach Nicole Collier. "We turned the ball over a ton. Our saving grace was our shooting from behind the three-point line. Our defense needs to be a priority. I was proud of how we played through the physicality of the game, but we have to get better."
Sophomore forward Kayla Sullivan (St. Louis, Mo.) led the team with 21 points and four steals. She also tied with sophomore guard Kimora McClure (Austin, Texas) for the team lead in blocked shots, with two each. Freshman guard Maddy Queathem (Montgomery City, Mo.) added 15 points, while McClure recorded 14 points and six assists. Freshman forward Ellie Buscher (St. Louis, Mo.) posted a double-double with 12 points and a team-high 10 rebounds.
Feb. 1: Mineral Area College at Park Hills, Mo.
SFCC (18-4, 3-3 Region 16) claimed a 57-53 victory over Mineral Area College on Saturday, Feb. 1, in Park Hills, Missouri. The game was part of both the Region 16 and Missouri Community College Athletic Conference schedules.
The Lady Roadrunners opened with a 10-4 lead but saw Mineral Area pull ahead 31-28 by halftime. Both teams struggled offensively in the third quarter, and Mineral Area held a 38-30 lead heading into the final period.
Mineral Area stretched its lead to 12 points early in the fourth quarter before SFCC rallied with a 25-9 run to secure the comeback win.
Sophomore guard Madison Johnson (Harrisonville, Mo.) led SFCC with 23 points and seven rebounds. She also tallied four steals. McClure contributed 14 points, while freshman guard Malia Rodgers (Montgomery City, Mo.) added 13 points and three assists.
