Lady Roadrunners win sixth consecutive game

Nov.15 Oklahoma Wesleyan University Junior Varsity at Red Devil Classic
The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Lady Roadrunners extended their winning streak to five with a 63-54 victory over Oklahoma Wesleyan University Junior Varsity in the opening round of the Red Devil Classic in Iola, Kansas on Friday afternoon, Nov.15.
SFCC led 24-12 at the end of the first quarter. Oklahoma Wesleyan outscored SFCC 16-7 in the second quarter, but SFCC led 31-28 at halftime. The Lady Roadrunners got their offense going once again in the third quarter with a 21-10 run to help secure the victory.
Freshman guard Malia Rodgers led a balanced scoring attack with 17 points. Freshman forward Ellie Buscher contributed a double-double with 13 points and 18 rebounds to go along with two blocked shots, three assists, and three steals; all team-leads (tied). Sophomore guard Kimora McClure added 12 points off the bench. Sophomore guard Madison Johnson scored 10 points. Freshman guard Jonise Barcene tied for the team lead in assists with three. Sophomore forward Kayla Sullivan also tied for team lead in assists with three.
Nov. 16 McPherson College Junior Varsity Red Devil Classic
SFCC (6-1) closed out their portion of the Red Devil Classic with a 105-37 victory over the McPherson College Junior Varsity in Iola, Kansas on Saturday afternoon, Nov.16.
The Lady Roadrunners stormed out to a 23-13 lead in the first quarter and never looked back, holding McPherson to no more than 13 points in any quarter. SFCC held McPherson to single digit scoring totals in the third and fourth quarters.
Johnson led the team with 20 points, five steals, and two blocked shots (tied). Buscher led the team with nine rebounds and two blocked shots, to go along with 16 points. Rodgers led the team with five assists and added 15 points. Freshman forward Carolyn Foster scored 11 points and tied the for team lead in rebounds with nine. Freshman guard Sophia Edwin added 11 points.
