Jackson and Shipp earn recognition

State Fair Community College Lady Roadrunners sophomores Quincenia Jackson and Jaida Shipp have earned recognition for their accomplishments this season. Jackson was named the Region 16 Division I Women's Basketball Player of the Week. Shipp currently ranks 19th in the nation in field goal percentage at 63.9 percent.

Jackson averaged 17 points and nine rebounds per game in a pair of wins during the SFCC Thanksgiving Classic this past weekend. Jackson currently ranks fifth in the NJCAA in field-goal percentage at 69.7 percent.

"Quincenia did a tremendous job this week," said Lady Roadrunners Head Coach Nicole Collier. "She was very good defensively and dominated the boards. She shot 71 percent from the field this weekend. Quincenia has worked extremely hard to get herself on the court. She is continuing to get comfortable. We are proud of both Quincenia and Jaida for their accomplishments."
