November 18 Three Rivers Community College at Neosho, Missouri
The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Lady Roadrunners opened their Region 16 schedule in the Region 16 Classic hosted by Crowder College with a game against the 23rd ranked Three Rivers Community College Lady Raiders. SFCC lost 81-77.
The game was tied at 38 at halftime. SFCC had a chance to tie the game late in the contest after Three Rivers took the lead, however, they missed the shot and had to foul.
Sophomore guard Biance Stocks led the team with 22 points and three assists, a tie shared with sophomore guard Kayla Dooley. Freshman forward Aiyanna Tanksley scored 20 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Sophomore forward Autumn Wallace, and freshman Jaida Shipp added 15 and 12 points, respectively. Sophomore guard Paige Spencer led the team with eight steals.
"I thought we played really well against Three Rivers," said Lady Roadrunners Head Coach Nicole Collier. "We executed our defensive strategy really well. We had a balanced scoring effort. We were able to lead most of the game. We had opportunities, we just couldn't capitalize."
November 19 Moberly Area Community College at Neosho, Missouri
SFCC (5-3, 0-2 in Region 16) closed their portion of the Region 16 Classic with an 87-53 loss to the 12th-ranked Moberly Area Community College Lady Greyhounds on Saturday, November 19 in Neosho.
SFCC led 16-15 at the end of one quarter, but Moberly outscored SFCC 27-7 in the second quarter to take control of the contest.
Tanksley registered a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds to lead the team in both categories. Freshman guard Perryauna Youmans contributed 13 points and a team-high three assists. Dooley registered a team-high four steals.
"We did not handle Moberly's pressure defense," said Collier. "Turnovers were a nightmare in this game. We battled on Friday and played really hard. I think fatigue was a little bit of an issue on Saturday. We did not execute against the press against Moberly."
