Lady Roadrunners drop a pair of Region 16 contests

Feb. 9 Mineral Area College at Park Hills
The State Fair Community College Lady Roadrunners lost a Region 16 and Missouri Community College Athletic Conference game to the Mineral Area College Lady Cardinals 64-38 in Park Hills, Missouri on Wednesday night, Feb. 9.
The Lady Roadrunners got off to good start in the game. SFCC led 16-12 at the end of the first quarter. Mineral Area fought back to take a 24-20 lead at halftime. The Lady Roadrunners trailed 39-31 at the end of three quarters. The Lady Cardinals went on a 25-7 run in the final quarter to seal the victory.
Freshman forward Quincenia Jackson led the Lady Roadrunners in scoring with 10 points. Freshman guard Paige Spencer pulled down a team-high five rebounds. Sophomore guard Grace Goodwin recorded a team-high two assists.
"We had some matchup problems," said Lady Roadrunners Head Coach Nicole Collier. "We were unable to withstand the big run that Mineral Area made in the fourth quarter."
Feb. 12 Three Rivers Community College at Sedalia
SFCC (9-13, 5-8) lost an 83-43 Region 16 and Missouri Community College Athletic Conference game to the top ranked Three Rivers Community College Lady Raiders inside the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center on Saturday night, February 12. The game was part of the Homecoming festivities at State Fair Community College.
The Lady Raiders jumped out to an 11-1 lead with under seven minutes remaining the opening quarter. Three Rivers used full-court pressure to force 29 turnovers for the game.
Freshman forward Autumn Wallace led the Lady Roadrunners in scoring with 14 points. Freshman guard Kendra Johnson pulled down a team-high seven rebounds. Goodwin dished out a team-high three assists. Freshman guard Olivia Dooley led the team in steals with two.
"We can't turn the ball over 22 times in one half and feel like we are going to be in the game," said Collier. "We made a lot of mental mistakes. We have some things to figure out with our rotation. Three Rivers is a very good program. They're very good at what they do, and we didn't handle it very well. We will regroup and fix some things, bounce back, and get ready for Wednesday."
