Lady Roadrunners defeat Lady Vikings

The Lady Roadrunners traveled to Hillsboro to take on the Jefferson College Lady Vikings on Jan. 21 for a Region 16 and Missouri Community College Athletic Conference game. SFCC (12-6, 2-1 in Region 16, 4-1 in the MCCAC) outscored Jefferson 21-10 in the second quarter and finished 90-71.

"We keep rotating players; our depth is how we won this game," said Head Coach Kevin Bucher. "Our transition game worked well. We got up and down the floor and were able to get easy transition baskets."

Freshman guard/forward Catie Kaifes led four Lady Roadrunners in double-figure scoring with 17 points. She knocked down five of eight three-point attempts. Sophomore guard Alexis Cowan contributed 15 points and also recorded a team-high two blocked shots. Cowan was one of five Lady Roadrunners to tie for the team lead in steals with two. Freshman guard Ren'Cia Rolling added 11 points, and sophomore guard Danae' Cole pitched in with 10. She also pulled down a team-high six rebounds and dished out a team-high nine assists.
