April 22 – Crowder College at Sedalia
SEDALIA, Mo. – The State Fair Community College Lady Roadrunners wrapped up the regular season with a pair of Region 16 losses to Crowder College on Tuesday, April 22, falling 7-4 in game one and 12-2 in five innings in game two.
In game one, sophomore outfielder/middle infielder Jordan Crooks of Leeton and sophomore pitcher/first baseman Kiara Sodini of Lee's Summit each hit a home run. Sodini drove in three runs. Sophomore utility player Bailey Haselhorst of Kansas City and sophomore catcher/third baseman Lia Hill of Lee's Summit each doubled. Sophomore middle infielder/outfielder Emily Burke of Cole Camp added a hit and a run. SFCC totaled six hits.
Freshman infielder/utility player Jenna Herald of Monett started in the circle, allowing seven runs (four earned) on nine hits with one walk in a complete-game effort.
In game two, Crooks, Herald and sophomore third baseman Myla Inman of Washington each doubled. Burke and sophomore first baseman/second baseman Danika Sickle of Grain Valley each recorded a hit. Herald and Inman scored a run, with Inman also collecting an RBI. Hill drove in a run.
Freshman pitcher/first baseman Elana Clark of Maysville started and went 2 1/3 innings, allowing seven runs on seven hits with four walks. Sodini pitched the final 2 2/3 innings, giving up five runs on six hits with one strikeout and one walk.
April 26 – St. Charles Community College at Cottleville
COTTLEVILLE, Mo. – SFCC (16-34) saw its season come to a close with two losses in the Region 16 Sub-Regional at St. Charles Community College on Saturday, April 26. The Lady Roadrunners dropped game one 3-1 and fell 6-5 in game two.
In game one, SFCC was limited to two hits. Sickle hit a solo home run, and Herald doubled.
Clark pitched a complete game, allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out six and walking three.
In game two, Burke led the offense with three hits, an RBI and a run scored. Crooks doubled and scored. Haselhorst added an RBI. Sickle and Herald each scored a run. Inman doubled and drove in two runs. Sodini recorded a hit and drew two walks.
Herald started and pitched six innings, allowing six runs (three earned) on seven hits with two walks. Sodini pitched the final inning, allowing one hit and one walk.
