April 15 – Crowder College at Neosho
NEOSHO, Mo. – State Fair Community College dropped both games of a Region 16 doubleheader at Crowder College on Tuesday, April 15, falling by identical 11-3 scores in five innings.
In game one, sophomore utility player Bailey Haselhorst of Kansas City doubled and drove in two runs. Sophomore middle infielder/outfielder Emily Burke of Cole Camp also doubled. Sophomore third baseman Myla Inman of Washington added an RBI. The Lady Roadrunners recorded six hits.
Sophomore pitcher/first baseman Kiara Sodini of Lee's Summit started and pitched two innings, allowing eight runs on nine hits with two walks. Freshman pitcher/shortstop Valerie Meyer of Hughesville came on in relief, pitching 2 1/3 innings and allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits with three strikeouts and two walks.
In game two, sophomore outfielder/middle infielder Jordan Crooks of Leeton doubled and scored. Freshman outfielder Carley Conrad of Edwardsville, Kansas, had a hit and a run. Sodini added a double and an RBI, while Burke contributed an RBI.
Freshman pitcher/first baseman Elana Clark of Maysville started and pitched four innings, allowing 11 runs (eight earned) on 12 hits.
April 17 – St. Charles Community College at Cottleville
COTTLEVILLE, Mo. – SFCC was swept in another Region 16 doubleheader on Thursday, April 17, falling 8-0 in five innings in game one and 7-1 in game two.
In the opener, Crooks and Burke each had a hit, as the Lady Roadrunners were limited to two total.
Clark pitched all five innings, allowing eight runs (four earned) on eight hits, with one strikeout and three walks.
In game two, Crooks had two of SFCC's three hits and scored the lone run. Burke added a hit and an RBI.
Sodini pitched six innings, allowing seven runs on 11 hits and six walks.
April 18 – Three Rivers College at Poplar Bluff
POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. – SFCC (16-30, 9-17 Region 16) split a Region 16 doubleheader with Three Rivers College on Friday, April 18, dropping the opener 4-0 and bouncing back for a 9-5 win in game two.
In game one, Burke recorded two hits, and sophomore first baseman/second baseman Danika Sickle of Grain Valley added a double.
Freshman infielder/utility player Jenna Herald of Monett started and went six innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on eight hits with one strikeout and one walk.
In game two, Inman had three hits, two runs and an RBI. Sophomore catcher/third baseman Lia Hill of Lee's Summit also recorded three hits, scored once and drove in a run. Conrad added two hits, a run and an RBI. Crooks contributed two hits and two RBIs, while Haselhorst added two hits and scored twice. Sophomore utility player Bella Ochoa of Carrollton also had two hits and drove in two. SFCC finished with 16 hits as a team.
Clark earned the complete-game win, allowing five runs (three earned) on six hits with three strikeouts and three walks.
