Roadrunners open season in Bolivar

The 19th ranked men's State Fair Community College (SFCC) cross country team brought home a ninth-place finish as a team from the Bearcat Classic hosted by Southwest Baptist University on Friday night, September 6 in Bolivar.

Sophomore Jess Cornick recorded the best finish on the four-mile course in the time of 22:49.75 to finish 79th. Sophomore Justin Horn finished 91st in 23:04.92. Freshman Duncan Wilkinson finished 95th with a time of 23:09.22. Sophomore Josh Schaffart placed 122nd with a time of 24:59.88. Freshman Adam Broekemeier finished 129th in 25:40.40. Sophomore Mario Nunez finished 134th with a time of 26:57.71. Freshman Jorge Contreras finished 136th with a time of 27:01.45.

"We had a nice fall evening for our first meet of the season," said Head Coach Brad Hagedorn. "Duncan Wilkinson ran a fabulous race and finished third on our team behind two of our most experienced runners. We will certainly get better as the season progresses."
