Roadrunners face another tough test

The 23rd ranked State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners cross country team continued their season at the Southern Stampede on Friday Sept.15 hosted by Missouri Southern State University in Joplin. SFCC placed 14th as a team at the event.

Justin Horn finished 73rd, a team best finish for SFCC. Horn covered the 8K course in time of 31:23.06. Ryan Bailey finished 78th in 31:45.51. Guadalupe Rodriguez finished 86th in 32:27.66. David Leon finished 100th in 33:10.78. Gavin Zumwalt placed 106th in 33:51.06. Kaiden Smith finished 108th in 34:37.18. Noah Holtmeyer placed 113th in 35:11.28. Nickolas Crowell finished 114th with a time of 35:11.34.

The coaching staff was pleased with what they saw from the Roadrunners.

"The team ran aggressively from the gun to put themselves in a good position early in the race," said Head Coach Brad Hagedorn. "The goal was to focus on packing up and running a more team-oriented race."

This was the first 8K race for the team this season.
