Brad Hagedorn is in his third season as the Head Track and Field and Cross Country Coach at State Fair Community College.

During the 2022 cross country season, the State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners cross country team wrapped up a historic season with a 21st place finish as a team with 549 points at the NJCAA Division II Cross Country Championships. The 21st place finish as a team is the best in program history. The Roadrunners cross country team also claimed the program’s second NJCAA Team Academic Award.

During the 2022 cross country season, the State Fair Community College (SFCC) Lady Roadrunners cross country team recorded a program best 20th place finish as a team with 502 points at the NJCAA Division II Cross Country Championships.

Both teams also claimed Region 16 team Championships during the 2022 season. 

Hagedorn helped his cross country and track and field programs to outstanding inaugural season’s. The men’s cross country team finished 25th as a team at the NJCAA Division II Cross Country National Championships. The track and field teams were represented at the indoor and outdoor national championships. The men’s cross country team earned the program’s first NJCAA Academic Team Award.

The track and field teams continued to make progress in their second season. For the first time in the history of the women’s program, SFCC had a top eight individual finish at the outdoor national meet.

Hagedorn brings considerable experience as a track and field coach at the high school level. He served as the head track coach at Smith-Cotton High School, a position he held since 2006. He served as the assistant high school track coach from 1999 to 2005. He also previously served as the head girl’s track coach at Cameron High School from 1997-1999.

Coach Hagedorn has coached 61 academic all-state recipients since the award was instituted in 2016. He led his team to nine West Central Conference track and field championships. He helped Smith-Cotton to a district runner-up finish in boys Class 4 track and field in 2008. He coached a state championship girls Class 5 team in the 4x100m relay. Hagedorn has also coached a state champion in the girls Class 5 200m. In total, his student-athletes earned 29 Class 4 or 5 track and field all-state performances and 56 team track meet championships during his time at Smith-Cotton.

Coach Hagedorn earned his bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Central Missouri State University in 1995. He also earned a master’s degree in Education with emphasis in Athletic Administration and Physical Education from Northwest Missouri State University in 1997.
