Roadrunners track and field earns three wins, 16 top-eight finishes at Culver-Stockton
CANTON, Mo. – The State Fair Community College men’s track and field team earned 84 points and placed fourth at the Culver-Stockton College Invitational on Friday, April 18.

The State Fair Community College men's track and field team earned 84 points and placed fourth at the Culver-Stockton College Invitational on Friday, April 18. The Roadrunners brought home 16 top-eight finishes, including three event victories.
Sophomore Isaiah Waller of Versailles led the way, winning the discus with a throw of 52.23 meters. He also won the hammer throw with a personal-best mark of 56.20 meters.
Freshman Tucker Singer of Tina took first in the shot put with a throw of 16.65 meters.
Sophomore Peyton Ligon of Ozark placed second in the high jump with a clearance of 1.96 meters.
Sophomore Jasper DeGraffenreid of Eldon took third in the shot put (14.81 meters), and freshman Zeshaun Ballance-Gray of Kansas City placed third in the triple jump (14.11 meters). Ballance-Gray also finished eighth in the long jump with a personal-best 6.39 meters.
Freshman Demarii Williams of Rolla had a strong day, placing fourth in the shot put (14.81 meters) and fifth in the discus (45.21 meters), both personal bests. Freshmen Charles Burns of Jefferson City and Legend Freelon of Kansas City tied for fourth in the high jump, each clearing 1.91 meters.
Freshman Bennett Mantooth of Hermitage took fifth in the pole vault with a college-best mark of 3.60 meters. Sophomore Joseph Bland of Versailles was fifth in the shot put with a throw of 14.76 meters.
Freshman Conner Finke of Montgomery City placed sixth in the javelin with a personal-best 43.43 meters. Freshman Zack Cross of Newtown finished sixth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 58.06 seconds.
The Roadrunners' 4x100-meter "A" relay team finished eighth with a time of 44.72 seconds.
"We were very competitive this week," head coach Brad Hagedorn said. "We had several events where we placed multiple athletes. We broke five school records and advanced our national position in several other events. The weather was virtually perfect, and the athletes came through in a big way. We wrap up our regular season next Friday in Des Moines."
