SFCC completes at the Ichabod Invitational
A portion of the State Fair Community College track and field team competed at the Ichabod Invitational on Feb. 14-15 at the Washburn Indoor Athletic Facility.

TOPEKA, Kan. – A portion of the State Fair Community College track and field team competed at the Ichabod Invitational on Feb. 14-15 at the Washburn Indoor Athletic Facility. SFCC secured three top-eight finishes against tough competition.
Freshman Tucker Singer of Tina recorded the Roadrunners' best finish, placing third in the men's shot put with a throw of 16.66 meters.
Freshman Legend Freelon of Kansas City, Missouri, finished seventh in the open men's high jump with a college-best mark of 1.89 meters. Sophomore Jess Cornick of Mason City, Iowa, also placed seventh in the 600-yard run, setting a personal best with a time of 1:13.32.
"It was a very high-quality meet at Washburn this weekend," head coach Brad Hagedorn said. "All of our athletes turned in consistent performances. The highlights were career bests by Joe Bland of Versailles in the shot put and Isaiah Waller of Versailles in the weight throw. We hope to end our indoor regular season next Friday with our best marks of the season."
SFCC will compete in its final indoor meet of the regular season next week.
