SFCC Competes at Bearcat Invite
The State Fair Community College (SFCC)) track and field teams brought home five top six finishes from the Bearcat Invite hosted by Northwest Missouri State University inside Hughes Fieldhouse on Feb. 7-8 in Maryville, Missouri.

The State Fair Community College (SFCC)) track and field teams brought home five top six finishes from the Bearcat Invite hosted by Northwest Missouri State University inside Hughes Fieldhouse on Feb. 7-8 in Maryville, Missouri.
Freshman Zeshaun Ballance-Gray of Kansas City, Missouri led SFCC and finished fourth in the triple jump with a jump of 13.98 meters, which is a new college best mark in the event for Ballance-Gray.
Sophomore Justin Horn of Hermitage finished fifth in the 600-yard run with a time of 1:14.94, a new college best time in the event. Freshman Tucker Singer of Tina, Missouri finished fifth in the shot put with a throw of 16.57 meters.
Freshman Bennett Mantooth of Hermitage placed sixth in the heptathlon with a score of 3,950 points, which is a college best score for Mantooth. Sophomore Jess Cornick of Mason City, Iowa finished sixth in the 1,000m run with a time of 2:31.22, a college best.
"We faced arguably the toughest competition of the season this weekend," said Head Coach Brad Hagedorn. "While we may not have placed very high, we performed extremely well. Congratulations to Jess Cornick for qualifying for Nationals in the 1000m and in the 800m."
