Roadrunners continue strong indoor season
The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners track and field team brought home seven top eight finishes from the UCM Invitational hosted by the University of Central Missouri inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center on Friday, Jan.24 in Warrensburg.

The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners track and field team brought home seven top eight finishes from the UCM Invitational hosted by the University of Central Missouri inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center on Friday, Jan.24 in Warrensburg.
Freshman Tucker Singer of Tina, Missouri won the shot put for the second week in a row with a throw of 16.99 meters, which is new collegiate best for Singer in the event. Freshman Zeshaun Ballance-Gray of Kansas City, Missouri also won the triple jump for the second week in a row with a jump of 13.70 meters, which is also a new collegiate best for Ballance-Gray.
Sophomore Jess Cornick of Mason City, Iowa finished second in the 600-yard run with a time of 1:14.55, which was a season best time for Cornick.
Sophomore Peyton Ligon of Ozark, Missouri finished third in the high jump with a jump of 1.95 meters.
The Roadrunners 4 x 400m relay team placed fifth with a time of 3:34.96.
Freshman Steven Skelton of Waynesville, Missouri finished sixth in the 400m with a time of 55.19.
Sophomore Joseph Bland of Versailles, Missouri finished eighth in the shot put with a throw of 14.98 meters, which was a collegiate best throw for Bland.
"We had a consistent weekend," said Head Coach Brad Hagedorn. "Our men had arguably our best team finish ever indoors. Joe Bland had a well-deserved career-best in the shot put. Jess Cornick was runner-up to a Roadrunner alumnus in the 600. We also got event wins from Singer and Ballance-Gray to round out a fabulous day."
