Roadrunners’ track and field find success at Redhawks Invite
The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners track and field team opened their 2025 indoor campaign at the Redhawks Invite hosted by Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) in Cape Girardeau on Saturday, Jan. 11.

Sophomore Peyton Ligon, Ozark recorded the best finish for the Roadrunners taking second place in the high jump with a jump of 1.95 meters.
Freshman Zack Cross, Newtown finished third in the 400m with a time of 54.18. Freshman Charles Burns, Jefferson City finished third in the 55m hurdles with a time of 8.09. Freshman Zeshaun Ballance-Gray, Kansas City, Missouri also brought home a third-place finish in the triple jump with a jump of 13.32 meters. Freshman Tucker Singer, Tina placed third in the shot put with a throw of 16.27 meters.
Sophomore Isaiah Waller, Versailles finished fourth in the weight throw with a throw of 16.58 meters.
Freshman Legend Freelon, Kansas City, Missouri finished in a tie for fifth place in the high jump with a jump of 1.85 meters.
Sophomore Jess Cornick finished sixth in the 800m with a time of 2:04.53. Freshman Nathan Richards, Raymore also finished sixth in the 55m hurdles with a time of 8.44.
Burns also brought home a seventh-place finish in the high jump with a jump of 1.80 meters. Sophomore Jasper DeGraffenreid, Eldon finished seventh in the shot put with a throw of 14.33 meters.
Sophomore Justin Horn, Hermitage finished eighth in the 800m with a time of 2:07.41.
"Our teams had a very positive start to our 2025 indoor season at SEMO," said Head Coach Brad Hagedorn. "Collectively, we broke three school records, had two national qualifiers, and set seven career bests. After shaking off the nerves, we settled in and competed well against some stiff competition. We look forward to showing a little more experience next weekend at Northwest Missouri State University."
