October 16 Jefferson College in Hillsboro
The match between the State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners and the Jefferson College Vikings soccer teams ended in a 1-1 tie in Hillsboro on Wednesday, Oct. 16. The game was part of the Missouri Community College Athletic Conference schedule for both teams.
SFCC got on the scoreboard early in the contest with a breakaway goal from freshman Nathan McCollin of Barbados off a pass from freshman Ethan Taylor of Barbados. SFCC held that advantage until about a minute and eight seconds left in the game when Jefferson tied the match with a goal from a corner kick.
Both teams pushed forward for the final minute, but neither could find the game-winning goal. Freshman Michele Tafani of Italy got the start in goal for SFCC.
October 19 Southwestern Illinois College Belleville, Illinois
SFCC fell to Southwestern Illinois College 7-1 on Saturday, Oct. 19 in a match in Belleville, Illinois.
Southwestern Illinois took a 2-0 lead into halftime. Southwestern Illinois added another goal to extend the advantage to 3-0.
SFCC fought scored off a corner kick from McCollin with an assist from freshman Mohanned Naini to trim the deficit to 3-1.
Southwestern Illinois added four more goals to close out the game.
Tafani got the start in goal for SFCC.
