The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners soccer team lost a 3-2 game to Metropolitan Community College (MCC) in Kansas City on Tuesday, Oct. 8.
SFCC scored a goal off a free kick from freshman Ethan Taylor with about 25 minutes remaining in the half. SFCC added another goal off a corner kick when Jeevan Matthew scored with about seven minutes and 54 seconds remaining until halftime. SFCC held a 2-0 lead at halftime.
MCC got on the scoreboard with about 35 minutes remaining in the second half. They tied the game with another goal with about nine minutes remaining in the contest. MCC scored what would prove to be the game winner with just under 30 seconds remaining in the game.
Freshman Michele Tafani got the start in goal for SFCC.
October 12 Crowder College at Neosho
SFCC (4-8-1) fell 4-0 to Crowder College in Neosho on Saturday, Oct. 12. Crowder attacked the SFCC defense and put away their chances in the opening half to establish their advantage.
Tafani got the start in goal for SFCC. SFCC will continue their road trip as they take on Jefferson College in Hillsboro on Wednesday, October 16.
