The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners soccer team dropped a tough 2-1 decision to Western Iowa Tech Community College on Saturday, August 24 at home.
SFCC got on the scoreboard first with a goal in the 10th minute from freshman Nathan McCollin with an assist from sophomore Mosiah Bonney to put the Roadrunners on top. Western Iowa tied the match with a goal in the 26th minute and was tied 1-1 at halftime.
Western Iowa scored what would prove to be the winning goal early in the second half.
Freshman Michele Tafani got the start in goal for SFCC.
"We got off to good start," said Roadrunners Head Coach Michael Poropat. "We have much work to do. We need to learn the difference between competing for everything and settling for whatever is paramount."
