Mateja makes program history at District Championship
The State Fair Community College (SFCC) golf team had a pair of individuals compete in the 54-hole South-Central District Championship at the Fred Arbanas Golf Course on May 6-7 in Kansas City.
The State Fair Community College (SFCC) golf team had a pair of individuals compete in the 54-hole South-Central District Championship at the Fred Arbanas Golf Course on May 6-7 in Kansas City.
Sophomore Keaton Mateja tied for 15th with a scores of 82, 76 and 78 to finish the three-round tournament with a total score of 236. Mateja also became the first Roadrunner in program history to earn First Team All-Region 16 honors with his finish.
Sophomore Alfred Poulter shot 100, 95 and 94 to finish the tournament 29th with a total score of 289 in three rounds.
"The men's golf team had some challenges throughout the year," said Head Coach Wayne Ogle. "We were able to make the most of it getting some good scores out of Keaton Mateja throughout the spring."
