The State Fair Community College (SFCC) golf team traveled to Fort Scott, Kansas to participate in a scrimmage against Fort Scott Community College and Coffeyville Community College on Friday, October 16 at Woodland Hills Golf Course.
Freshman William Rader of Joplin, finished with a score of 80, the lowest by any player. Freshman Bo Kroenke of Lincoln shot 82, which tied for the second lowest score. Freshmen Andrew Bailey from Warrensburg and Jacoby Mast from Springfield, each shot 89. Kaden Killingsworth a freshman from Mt. Vernon scored 91. Sophomore Brandon Plummer from Tipton shot 93. Sophomore Tucker Williams of Windsor shot 101. Freshman Brett Hockett of Sedalia shot 106 and freshman Fischer Tharp from Rockport shot 107.
"Woodland Hills is a short golf course but, it requires many layups and discipline off the tee," said SFCC Golf Head Coach Wayne Ogle. "The greens are the smallest that we will face all fall. They had plenty of slope and were fast enough that if you got above the hole, there was a good chance of a three putt. Our scores were a slight improvement over last week but, we still have a long way to go."
