Roadrunners Split Pair of Conference Games
Jan. 29 – Jefferson College at Sedalia

SEDALIA, Mo. – The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners earned their second consecutive victory with an 84-73 win over Jefferson College on Wednesday, Jan. 29, at the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center. The Missouri Community College Athletic Conference matchup saw 18 lead changes and seven ties.

Jefferson led 25-21 with just over seven minutes left in the first half before SFCC rallied to take a 37-34 halftime lead, capped by a long two-point jumper from freshman forward Daniel Garza of Chicago.

In the second half, SFCC capitalized on its size advantage, outscoring Jefferson 47-39 to secure the win.

"Chin Hanson (Chicago) did a good job for us," Roadrunners head coach Matt Brown said. "He was 9 of 10 from the field, had 10 rebounds, and scored 20 points, which is pretty good. Sam (Bradford of Houston) is obviously playing at a very high level right now. He's probably one of the best players in the league. He's a special player. Jefferson played hard, but we were able to respond in the second half. I thought Chin played well for us."

Bradford led a balanced SFCC offense with 21 points and a team-high five steals. He also tied for the team lead in assists with four, along with sophomore guard Mosa Osagie of McKinney, Texas, and freshman guard Tyson Mobley of Newtown, Connecticut.

Hanson recorded a double-double with 20 points and a team-high 10 rebounds. Sophomore guard Alex Gunnels of Kansas City, Missouri, added 15 points, while sophomore guard/forward Jon Brandtner of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, contributed 13. Gunnels, Osagie, and sophomore forward Timothy Palmer of Brinkley, Arkansas, each recorded two blocked shots.
