The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners basketball team got their first opportunity to scrimmage against other teams at the Iowa Shootout Jamboree in Ames, Iowa on Sunday, October 6.
SFCC won two out of the three scrimmages and Roadrunners Head Coach Matt Brown was happy with what he saw from his team.
"During the first two scrimmages, we got 11 guys in the first half," said Brown. "The final scrimmage we played all 15 guys. We played a ton of different combinations. This is a good jamboree with high quality teams. We got to work on our team chemistry with a lot of different lineups, different rotations. We were able to find out what our strengths are and what we need to continue to improve on. Overall, it was a very good event. We got to play everyone, no one got injured and we were able to win. Our attitudes were very good. That is what the jamborees are for, to be able to find out what you have."
