Edwards signs with Wheeling University

State Fair Community College (SFCC) sophomore guard Elijah Edwards of Beckley, West Virginia has decided to continue his academic and athletic career at Wheeling University an NCAA Division II school in Wheeling, West Virginia.
Edwards started 23 of 29 games as a sophomore at SFCC. Edwards averaged 7.6 points per game, while shooting 44.3% from the field and 42.6% from beyond the three-point arc. Edwards knocked down 80% of his free-throw attempts, while helping his team to an 11-19 record.
Edwards averaged 1.7 assists and 1.8 rebounds primarily as a guard. He scored in double figures eight times with a season-high 20 points in a game against Three Rivers Community College on February 28. Edwards dished out a season-high five assists in a game against Marshalltown Community College on November 10.
"Elijah is someone who can really shoot the ball," said Roadrunners Head Coach Matt Brown. "We are very excited for him. He is from the state of West Virginia. He is excited to be able spend his last two years a little closer to home. Wheeling University is a good school in a good league. His family will be able to see him play."
